TravelerCar Review – Locals Borrowing from Locals
TravelerCar Reviews and Experiences
Junghee K. of Paris

Not every TravelerCar customer is coming from abroad!
Meet Junghee K., 31. We met her in Châtelet, in the city center. A travel enthusiast, Junghee hails from Korea but has been living in Paris for the past 8 months. She has a passion for French cafés, shopping, arts and museums – and she’s exceling in her French classes. According to Junghee, this is her dream – to build a life in Europe.
Junghee stays just outside of the area colloquially known as Opéra in the 9th arrondissement, and tries to make the most of her quartier. The neighborhood is replete with luxury shopping – including the famous Galeries Lafayette – and the Parisian Opéra house.

We caught up with Junghee about why she loves the car-sharing model, her traveling style, and where she plans to go next.
TC: Tell us about your travel plans.
J: Even though I love the hustle of Paris, sometimes I need to step outside for a weekend getaway – or even longer – so I can get away from the tourist bustle, escape the crowds.
In Paris I can look around the city, travel by Métro – the city is well covered. But I like to discover outside of Paris though, too – for instance, I’ve heard great things about Mont Saint Michel. It’s pretty close by car. Normandie, Bretagne – both sound great to me. I’ve read a lot of good things about Bretagne – since it’s the coastal area with so many cute little towns. (Author’s note: It’s like Junghee read our minds! Read our Normandie and Bretagne recommendations here).
I also am dying to go down to the southwest. I want to do a wine trip – see Bordeaux, these areas.
TC: What’s the appeal of traveling by car for you, as a local?
J: I want a car to see more local stuff along the way. One of the great joys is to stop by in a little town that is not on guidebooks, that you would never know otherwise. Sit at a local café, try the food there… I really like road trips. You know, I don’t mind driving hours and hours. As long as I can stop. [laughs]
I miss road trips so much, now that I don’t have a car in Paris. I want to do them as much as possible. Now that I have a good group of friends in France, the car sharing model of TravelerCar is a great way for me to see new places and not spend too much.
TC: So what kind of Traveler are you?
J: I travel a lot. The last time I took a big trip, I went around Italy, Spain, and France with my best friend. It was amazing. It’s funny, because I’ve traveled with her before. She was surprised – she told me, ‘Junghee, you’re a better travel partner now!’ [laughs]. I think as I’ve grown older, I’ve become more flexible as a travel partner. When I was younger, sometimes I had a problem with wanting to do things my way. I wasn’t as good with compromise. Now I just go with the flow.
TC: Very cool. We can relate to that transformation, too. So, do you have any other travel plans on the horizon?
J: Well, after browsing the website, I thought – why just stick to France? I can go to Spain too and enjoy the local areas there.
I also want to go to Madrid, spend a week or so, then go over to Salamanca where my husband will be on business. Because TravelerCar works in Spain, this is perfect for me. After comparing a lot of sites, I am definitely going to use TravelerCar for my next road trip. The price is the most important factor to me, and I also really care about the environmentally-friendly aspect. This is such a cool idea! If I had a car, I would park it with you guys when I wasn’t using it. I really like in the concept.
